Christmas: A Time to Teach Generosity

Christmas is a highlight in the life of most children, but much of the benefit is focused on what they get. Of course one of the blessings of Christmas is giving, so look for ways to teach children generosity this year. Here are some ideas:

Involves kids in your gift giving strategy or help them develop their own. Planning, shopping, and wrapping can each provide ways for children to think about blessing others.

Anticipate with your children the delight others will experience when the gifts are opened. Help your child enjoy the fun others will have when receiving gifts.

Ask children the question, "What are you doing this year to make Christmas special for others?" This question alone can help teens think of others instead of just themselves. A short discussion can help move kids from selfish tendencies to generosity.

And most importantly, remind children of the generosity of God by sending us a special gift in his Son.

Christmas Season Is So Awesome!!

I am so blessed to know Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior! I am so blessed to have a wonderful wife and family! I am so blessed to have a wonderful church to serve and worship! I am so blessed to have friends around the world! I am so blessed so have a special ministry to touch both the young and young at heart!!!  I AM SO BLESSED!!

Chester and Dean At Radiant Kids Day Care

It has been a pleasure to be a part of Radiant Life Church and their wonderful Day Care, Radiant Kids! This pictures was taken recently after a time of devotions with the children.

This coming Sunday, November 21, Radiant Life Church will be celebrating "Go Ye"! This is one awesome Mission Giving Service! We will also be talking about BGMC (Boys and Girls Missionary Challenge) and asking the children to consider an goal for their own personal giving for 2011.

It is good to be a child of the King of Kings.

Here is Chester Sidney Dolittle's new look.  It is great having him back with me.  He was able to visit the kids at Kidzville, USA this past Sunday and Radiant Kids Day Care on Tuesday.  He is ready to settle down now that he is back in Ohio again.

Chester Has Returned!! Christmas Just Around The Corner!!

Well, my good friend, Chester Sidney Dolittle, has returned to me from Missouri! He was gone for seven weeks getting a "makeover"!! As I look at him, I really think he may have lost some pounds as well!! He was able to be in Kidzville, USA yesterday and say "hi" to his friends from Radiant Life Church! It was very special.

We are getting ready for our Christmas Celebrations so hope you will prepare yourselves as well. The Gospel According to Scrooge will take place on the first two weekends of December. Our Kids Christmas Party will be held at Post Road Activity Center at 7055 Avery Road on Friday, December 17th. It will be a special time with lots of fun, food and activities. We will have our Kid's Christmas Program on Sunday, December 19th at 10:30 AM. Watch for special announcements as things get closer.

Been A Long Time

Wow!! It has been a long time since I have been on here!! It has been a very busy summer!! It all began with the building of a 13 Ft. Rocket for our VBS. That was so much fun. With the help of a couple of talented ladies who have artist ability and it really came out great. After all that work, it was Operation Space, 2010!! Our VBS was wonderful. We had a wonderful staff of workers and great kids. After a week off, it was off to Heartland and Kids Camp! What a wonderful Camp!! I had the opportunity to be Camp Grandpa!! How about that....me, young me, a Camp Grandpa!! Anyway, I met so many wonderful people of all ages. Well, that was over and I was off to Cedar Falls, Iowa and the Cedar Falls Bible Conference. I have had the privilege of being the evening Kids speaker now for several years. I love this Conference!! It is an Inter-denominational event and I have the opportunity to work with people from all over the world here. As the Conference came to an end, I had the joy of picking up Judy who had been with our youngest daughter and her family in Minnesota. I really missed having Judy around! She was gone for almost a month while I was at VBS, Camp and then Cedar Falls. Now, we are home and life goes on with Kidzville, USA and all the wonderful people of Radiant Life Church. I am a very fortunate person with a wonderful wife, family, church, friends and God!! Thanks for being a friend to me.

Proud Grandpa

Well, this morning about 10 AM Central Time, we were blessed to hear that Aayliah Evelyn Hansen was born into this world to our youngest daughter, Amy Bohl Hansen! She and Peter are so thrilled. They now have two children!! Cole will be two in May and now their little girl, Aayliah. She weighed in at 6 lbs. 8 oz and 18 inches. She is a tiny little girl. Grandma Bohl will be able to get out to Minnesota sometime in February to help Amy and Peter. Amy says the Doctors say everything is good and the baby is healthy. We praise the Lord for his goodness and this precious miracle. We now have seven Grand Children!!

Our Newest Grand Daughter Soon To Be Here

Amy is so ready to deliver her new daughter. She said today it is getting hard to get around. We are anxiously waiting to get the call. Aayliah will Grand Daughter #2. She has a bigger brother, Cole, who is almost 2. Will keep all posted!! Keep the family in your prayers.

Judy officially retired this week! She gets to enjoy a little more sleep and just laughs when it starts to snow and the roads look "iffy" and says... "I don't have to go out in this"!! She certainly has worked hard over the years caring for babies both working out of the home for years and then Daycares. Her biggest desire now is to be able to spend some quality time with her Grand Children in Florida, North Carolina and Minnesota.

Kidzville USA is coming along great!! Start a new series this coming Sunday on Money with Kids. I am excited!!

Kidzville, USA 2010

Hi Everyone!! 2010 brings to us a wonderful opportunity to do some great things at RLC. Our theme in 2010 is "2010, a time to prepare and send"! It is our goal to work hard on programs that we will be able to take outside the church to bring encouragement to people but also give our kids a chance to minister. With our Dance Team, Puppet Team and Music Kids coming together, we will be able to go to Nursing Homes, Retirement Homes and Special Events. It is my hope that in and through these time we will be able to share our gifts and connect with Senior Adults through letter writing, card sending and special visitation times. I have made some contacts at present but if you have places to go, let me know.

The Kidzone is really rocking these days! Jerry and Marsha Baldaras are working on a "sensor unit" which will trigger sirens, music or unusual sounds every time someone but an offering into one of the Offering Tubes. We had a prototype this past Sunday and the kids loved it. By the way, Don't forget about BGMC Offerings!!

We still need to work on our Nureries and Preschool Rooms. This is the goal for 2010!
